Choosing your first camera is both exciting and scary. There are so many things to consider and so many things you don’t understand yet. So here’s a couple of absolutely necessary things for your camera to have, so you can set out on your photography journey.
MANUAL SETTINGS

If you want to truly learn photography in and out, it’s absolutely essentials for your camera to have manual settings. This way you are the one in control and can always tinker with the settings to achieve the result you wish for.

COMFORT

It might seem trivial, but cameras aren’t very light. You’re going to be holding it in your hands for hours at a time. Keeping that in mind choosing a camera with good ergonomics that fit you specifically is of great importance.

INTERCHANGEABLE LENSES

When you start, you don’t have a preferred genre to work in. The way you find your photography niche is by experimenting and trying different things. That’s why being able to change different lenses, and taking photos at different focal lengths is essential.

MEGAPIXELS

Photography veterans prefer to opt for cameras with 20 MP, but if you’re just starting out a 12 MP camera will give you clear enough photos that can still be used for printing.

PORTRAIT MODE

This one isn’t an essential but it will make your life a lot easier if you want to dabble into Portrait photography, allowing you to easily achieve that blurry background effect.
